Student FAQs

Abstracts must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on March 30, 2026.

When you submit the above form, you may click a box to receive confirmation of your submission. Then you will receive an email from聽[email protected]聽confirming your submission.

No, a faculty/staff nomination is not required for students to be able to submit an abstract. Faculty or staff can nominate student project(s) that the committee will email to encourage them to submit an abstract.

However, student(s) need to have a faculty/staff sponsor facilitating your project. This person will be listed on your abstract and should be consulted throughout your presentation development. Your sponsor can be the faculty/staff member whose class you produced the project in or someone who you have consulted with during the project.

Students may only submit one individual project AND one group project. If, for example, you have two great individual projects, you will need to decide before you apply which individual project you would like to submit.

No. Just submit one application for the group but include the requested information for every member.

Choose the format that best helps you communicate the core ideas, process, and outcomes of your project. Your faculty sponsor can also help you decide which format is most appropriate, as presentation norms vary by field.

Poster: A poster is a good choice if your project can be effectively shared through visuals, concise text, charts, images, or creative artifacts. Poster presentations are in成人视频憄erson, and at least one group member must stand with the poster for the full duration of the assigned poster session to summarize the project and answer attendee questions. For 2026, posters must follow the vertical 3 ft 脳 4 ft format and will be displayed on easels. Any required display equipment must be noted on your submission form.

Oral Presentation: An oral presentation works well if you want to explain your project in depth, walk the audience through your process, or showcase work that benefits from spoken discussion or multimedia. You will have 15 minutes total: 10 minutes of content and 5 minutes for Q&A. Presenters should summarize their work成人视频攚hat you did, what you found or created, and why it matters成人视频攔ather than reading a paper verbatim. Oral presentations are in成人视频憄erson. Fully online students may request a synchronous

Teams Presentation: please coordinate with your faculty/staff sponsor and email [email protected] if you need this accommodation.

Oral presentations are 15 minutes total: 10 minutes of prepared content and 5 minutes for audience questions. You are also expected to remain in your presentation room for the full one成人视频慼our session block, so you can support fellow presenters and participate in Q&A.

Poster presentations are displayed for the full duration of Poster Session 1 and Poster Session 2 (each approximately one hour). At least one presenter from your group must stand with the poster during your assigned session to summarize your project and answer questions from attendees and judges.

Specific presentation times will be included in your acceptance email once the final Showcase schedule is complete.

Yes. You may submit a project that does not align directly with your major or academic college. Many students pursue interdisciplinary or creative work that fits best within a different area of study, and that is completely acceptable.

On the submission form, you will be asked to select your academic college (which college you belong to as a student) and your judging category (which determines how your project will be evaluated).

If your project aligns best with a judging category outside of your major or academic college, select the judging category that most accurately describes your project, regardless of your degree program.

Interdisciplinary and cross成人视频慶ollege submissions are welcome at the Showcase.

Your academic college is determined by the department that houses your major. Lindenwood University has four academic colleges, and every major is assigned to one of them. You can find your academic college by checking the department of your major in the University Catalog or by viewing the list of Academic Colleges on the Lindenwood website.

If you are unsure which college your major belongs to, your faculty/staff sponsor or advisor can help you confirm it.

Yes, students can only submit projects that were conducted or created during their time as a student at Lindenwood. These projects can be completed on campus (e.g., for a class or club) or off campus (e.g., a community art center). However, projects that were completed for another academic institution are not permitted, even if students were enrolled at Lindenwood at the time of creation.

It成人视频檚 best to begin preparing your presentation as early as possible. Drafting your content, practicing your timing, and refining your visuals will help you feel confident and ready for Showcase day.

To support you, the Showcase Committee will host a 成人视频淗ow to Create a Poster or Oral Presentation成人视频 workshop on Thursday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in Harmon Hall 234. All students planning to present are encouraged to attend.

Starting early will ensure you can revise your work, get feedback from your faculty/staff sponsor, and meet all Showcase deadlines successfully.

No. You only need to submit your abstract by the abstract deadline to apply for the Showcase. The full materials for your presentation成人视频攕uch as papers, artwork, creative pieces, props, or display items成人视频攁re not submitted in advance. You will bring these items with you on the day of the Showcase.

If you are creating a poster, you must upload your digital poster file for printing by April 13 at 11:59 p.m. Instructions for how to submit your poster file will be provided in your acceptance email.

Your faculty or staff sponsor can help you prepare your presentation materials and determine what equipment or display needs should be included in your submission form.

All posters must follow the vertical 3 ft 脳 4 ft format. Posters will be printed and displayed vertically on easels, so please design your poster in a vertical layout.

Your digital poster file must be submitted by April 13 at 11:59 p.m. Instructions and the upload link will be provided in your acceptance email.

If your project requires additional display materials or equipment, please note this on your submission form.

After your abstract is accepted, you will receive an email with instructions for uploading your poster file. Posters must be submitted digitally by April 13 at 11:59 p.m. so they can be printed in time for the Showcase. Your poster should follow the vertical 3 ft 脳 4 ft format.

Files will be collected through a submission link provided in your acceptance email, and all posters will be printed by Lindenwood成人视频檚 designated printing staff.

If your project requires any additional display materials (such as props or artwork), please indicate this on your submission form and bring those items with you on the day of the Showcase.

Posters are due for printing by 11:59 p.m. on April 13, 2026.

If your research does not collect data (i.e. an art analysis, historical records) or does not involved human subjects (i.e. data collected on chemical compounds or earth materials), it does not need IRB approval.聽View more details defining Human Subjects Research.

For research involving human subjects, some Classroom Research Projects have been exempted from IRB review if they meet certain specifications.

Traditionally, the IRB does not allow students to present any research conducted under the Classroom Research Policy via publication or conference presentation. The purpose of this parameter is that the regulations define activities requiring IRB review as systematic and generalizable. Generalizability is hard to define, but generally understood as the presentation of findings in a public venue in such a way that the research results are intended to influence the behavior or practice of stakeholders. Given that this Showcase is simply designed to share something students have done, if it has been approved under the classroom research policy students may share their work.

Yes. All traditional St. Charles campus students are expected to present in person on the day of the Showcase.

Poster Presentations: At least one presenter from your group must be physically present during your assigned poster session to discuss your project and answer questions.

Oral Presentations: Oral presentations are delivered in person and include a 10成人视频憁inute talk followed by 5 minutes of Q&A.

Online or distance-learning students may request a synchronous Teams presentation if they cannot attend in person. Please discuss this with your faculty/staff sponsor and email [email protected] so the committee can review and accommodate your request.

All time zones mentioned are US Central.

Faculty FAQs

Yes. Faculty may present with their students as long as students completed the majority of the work on the project. In these cases, the project should be submitted to the Faculty Scholarship Committee for inclusion in the morning faculty scholarship sessions of the Showcase.

The morning portion of the Lindenwood Showcase features faculty development and faculty scholarship presentations. Faculty who are participating in morning sessions should register through Workday Learning once sessions are posted.

Students who are serving in a supporting role on a faculty-led project will be recognized in the presentation or poster.

Students who wish to present their own projects independently should submit abstracts through the Student Showcase submission form for placement in the afternoon Student Showcase.

If you have questions about faculty presentations, please contact Amy Estlund at [email protected].

No, a faculty nomination is not required for students to be able to submit an abstract. A nomination allows us to get into contact with students who have exemplary work to encourage their participation.

Faculty and staff may nominate student projects until February 27 at 11:59 p.m. Nominations help us reach students with strong scholarly or creative work and encourage them to apply, but nominations are optional and do not replace the student成人视频檚 required abstract submission.

Faculty/staff sponsors are Cc成人视频檇 on all acceptance emails sent to their student presenters. Sponsors will also receive any follow成人视频憉p instructions or updates that students receive during the preparation period. If you believe a student has not received their communication, please reach out to [email protected].

Nominating a student project is a meaningful way to recognize and celebrate the excellent work happening in your classes, labs, studios, and mentoring relationships. Faculty nominations help us reach students who may not realize their work is Showcase成人视频憆eady and encourage them to share their accomplishments with the campus community.

A nomination signals to students that their efforts are valued, highlights the impact of faculty mentorship, and supports students in gaining experience presenting their scholarly or creative work in a professional setting. Participating in the Showcase also gives students an opportunity to build their r茅sum茅 or CV, practice disciplinary communication skills, and engage with peers, faculty, and guests.

Nominations are optional, but they greatly enhance student participation and help us amplify the high成人视频憅uality work happening across the University.

Yes! Please nominate as many exemplary and original projects as you wish. Complete a separate form for each project that is nominated.

Yes. Faculty often have connections with community partners, organizations, or employers who may wish to support the Showcase. Opportunities include guest judging, sponsoring awards, hosting a table in the Networking Lounge, or partnering with the University to support Showcase programming.

You can learn more on the Partner with the Lindenwood Showcase webpage.

If you or an organization you work with is interested in participating, please complete the Showcase Partnership Interest Form or contact [email protected].

The Showcase Committee will follow up to discuss opportunities such as guest judging, sponsoring awards, attending the Networking Lounge, or partnering through external engagement.

Morning Showcase sessions – including faculty development workshops and faculty scholarship presentations – will be available through Workday Learning.

Faculty should register for all morning sessions they plan to attend in Workday once registration opens. The Showcase schedule and session listings will be announced in advance.
