Course Description

Open to longtime readers and writers of science fiction as well as those new to the genre, this Literature/Workshop course focuses on the study and analysis of science fiction published in the last century combined with the creation and critique of students³ÉÈËÊÓÆµ™ original science fiction pages (either short stories or excerpts from longer works-in-progress). The course structure alternates between literature reading/discussion weeks and workshop weeks. Weekly journal assignments give students the opportunity to respond to short articles about the craft and innovation of science fiction as a constantly evolving form of literature.
