Lindenwood Magazine - Spring 2025

7 THE LINDENWOOD SPRING 2025 EDITION Freshman Mary Doll themed her readings around imagination, selecting books that celebrate creativity and self-expression. ƵThe experience taught me the importance of flexibility and adaptability, making storytelling interactive, and embracing the energy and curiosity of young children,Ƶ Doll shared. ƵI also realized how valuable it is to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere that encourages kids to think, explore, and have fun with books.Ƶ Lindenwood student Magdalene Babayco read at the Kathryn Linnemann Branch and shared her perspective on the opportunity. ƵIƵm so glad to have the chance to interact with children and introduce them to different types of books. ItƵs amazing to see their excitement when they discover a story that captures their imagination. What IƵve learned is how much reading and books can impact a childƵs development. Stories inspire creativity, build confidence, and help kids see the world in new ways,Ƶ Babayco said. For the St. Charles City-County Library, the program has profound meaning. ƵThe St.Charles City-County Library is excited to support our local community and future educators by allowing students to get hands-on experience, while providing free early literacy programs to our patrons. WeƵve gotten great feedback from those who attend that their kids look forward to read-alouds and fun crafts, and the parents love the chance to feel part of something bigger by supporting someoneƵs beginning career. ItƵs been a true joy to watch patrons engage with the students about their future careers and go out of their way to compliment them on their lesson plan. This partnership has been a wonderful way to inspire and enhance connections in our community, which is what the Library is all about.Ƶ FEATURE STORY
