Each year two outstanding sociology students are awarded either the Jane Addams Community Engagement Award or the Max Weber Excellence in Sociology Award.

The recipient of the Jane Addams Community Engagement Award is a sociology major with a respectable GPA, who is active in the community (campus or at large) and/or working towards social change. The following students were past award recipients: Black man in grey suit holding award standing next to white woman short brown hair

 

 

 

 

The recipient of the Max Weber Excellence in Sociology Award is a sociology graduating senior with the highest GPA. The following students were past award recipients: White woman wearing a coral dress holding award standing next to a white woman with short brown hair

 

 

 

 

In addition, a sociology student is awarded The Jesse Bernard Award, which is an endowed scholarship provided to an overall exceptional sociology student who has a minimum GPA of 3.0. The following student(s) were recipients of the Jesse Bernard Award:
